I love taking pictures of ladybugs. They move quite slowly, don’t really care if you’re close, and don’t seem to be affected by a flash. Ladybugs also tend to be on something that’s green, so the contrast of red against green is always nice to look at. We get plenty of ladybugs in our garden and every now and then, we’ll get a ladybug that doesn’t look like a typical ladybug.
The only downside to ladybugs – my kids like them too. So, whenever I’m out in the garden taking a picture of a ladybug, within a few minutes, one of the kids is there with their camera, pushing me aside so they can take a picture too.
